THE GYPSY
Somewhere in Middle America in the late 1920's, a young girl named Sarah owned a rag doll named Nadya. Sarah had many toys but Nadya was her favourite... On Sarah's 8th birthday, Grandfather gave her a pretty necklace with a bright red glass pendant. He told Sarah that the pendant was actually a magic ruby, one which his Gypsy Grandfather had looted from some long forgotten temple in some long lost place... It was a gaudy piece and her parents would never let her wear it so Sarah gave it to Nadya. Nadya had always been alive to little Sarah, but little did anyone know that the tiny bit of magic that actually did exist in Grandfather's glass bauble could bring Nadya to life for anyone. However, shy little Nadya never moved about for anyone but her beloved Sarah... A few years later a Great Depression would strike the country, forcing Sarah's family to lose their home and move. In their rush, Nadya was packed into a trunk that was forgotten and left behind. Nadya was heartbroken. But unlike other rag dolls, she was lucky. She could move, she could try to find her Sarah...
